So, I changed plex mail (to a non plex user mail, my bad didn’t create an account before on that mail) and changed the password too. Then, lost all access to plex server. Did restore a backup, still no access.
Tried changing “Preferences.xml” to “Preferences.xml.old”, no luck.
Tried changing “Library” to “Library.old”, neither worked.
Tried following this guide, still no luck.
I don’t know what else to do.
I was running latest linuxserver/plex docker version and latest windows plex app.
Not quite sure I can follow.
You changed the e-mail address of your Plex account in the account settings?
When you tried unlocking/reclaiming your server… I suppose you stopped the server before deleting the preferences.xml file?
When accessing the server afterwards – did you make sure to use the local IP address of the server instead of accessing the server via the hosted version of Plex Web (=not via http://app.plex.tv/desktop)
Not sure why you changed the Library folder in the first place. As that’ll basically let you start over… have you considered setting up the server from scratch?
In the windows app under account settings, there I changed my email and password.
I stopped the docker and renamed the file. Then when I started it again, the file was created but no server found. Yeah, I used the local IP address with no luck at all
I changed the library folder so it would start over from scratch, but still didn’t work out.
The solution was, after creating another plex server from another docker image (linuxserver to plexinc), unclaiming the server (sign out plex account).
Then I stopped the docker and redownloaded the original one but with no old data. It found a new server to configure so I stopped it and changed the path to match the old plex data.
All items there again.
