Server Version#: 1.27.2.5929 (up to date)
Player Version#: 8.5 (2986)
I have Plex running in my home on three Apple TVs, all with the latest, 8.5, Player. All on the same WiFi. I’m using a Macbook as the Server. Two of the Apple TVs have no trouble seeing and accessing the content on the Server. Neither does an iPhone.
One Apple TV reports that the server is not available. I’ve restarted the ATV, deleted and re-installed the Plex Player. I logged out and back in again. It Still reports server not available, which it clearly is.
Just realized that this Apple TV is NOT listed as a recognized device. Those that can access the Server are.
Altho I had previously logged out of Plex on this Apple TV and logged back in, the iPhone did an ‘easy’ log in using its credentials for the ATV. I just logged out and back in using the more ‘traditional’ method of going to the Plex link web page and entering the 4 characters displayed on the TV. This solved it! The Macbook server is again available and this Apple TV is again listed along with the other two as an Accessible Device!
Tom, thanks for trying to help. Yes I am ‘logged in’ in that I can see media provided by Plex, just not my server! I just solved it by going to the Plex Link web page and entering the 4 characters displayed on the TV. All’s well…again!
