Server No Longer Plays or Records from HDHomerun

Server Version#: Version 1.31.3.6868
Player Version#: Version 4.103.2
Tuner Make/Model: HDHomerun Connect 4k HDHR5-4K
Guide/Lineup name: ?
Using XMLTV?: ?
Channel number/Name: Any

I have an HDHomerun tuner that was working fine, but stopped working a few weeks ago. I thought it was likely an issue with the tuner and I was slow to dig into it. Anyway, after restarting everything and some basic troubleshooting it’s still not working. I have tested the tuner and it is working perfectly with the HDHomerun app on Windows and with the Channels app on iOS.

Plex sees the tuner and adds it as a source with no problems (I tried deleting it and re-adding it). However, when I try to play or record it fails to connect (Playback Error: could not tune channel).

My logs are attached. I tried looking at them myself, but it’s a bit overwhelming and I’m not sure where to look.

Thanks!

Database Repair time.

Thanks for the response! So I can learn how to do better self-support in the future, which file did you see that in?

The main log file is ‘Plex Media Server.log’.

Here is a tool to help you do the repair. :GitHub - ChuckPa/PlexDBRepair: Database repair utility for Plex Media Server databases

Thanks again for the help. That’s a great utility and it was able to fix my database. However, the tuner is still not working (so far). I tried removing and re-adding the DVR and it’s currently rebuilding the guide and everything. I also deleted my scheduled recordings.

It is behaving differently. Now when it tries to play live TV it doesn’t error out - it just spins trying to connect indefinitely.

Any other thoughts of things I can try?

Ok, some good news! Live TV playback is working now. My server is crunching away on things (detecting intros, detecting credits, etc) that I assume were corrupt in the db and needed to be added back. So things are pretty slow right now, but hopefully, after it settles down it’ll be all good.

Thanks again for your help. If you don’t hear anything more that’s good news.
