Server no longer shows up

Server Version#: Synology DS412+ DSM6
Player Version#: 1.22.3.4523

My Plex server no longer shows up in my account (again). I’ve logged out of the both the client and server Plex app. I’ve restarted the router and my NAS. I turn off the VPN for all of this. The server appears to be claimed. Running

This keeps happening to me over and over, for the past few months. Sometimes updating to the latest Plex server causes the problem. Sometimes updating to the latest server version fixes the problem. In the past, I’ve tried resetting my Preferences.xml but this always ends up causing me problems where I cannot reclaim the server very easily. So I would like to avoid having to do that again. Running “claimpms.sh” usually ends up giving me a “We failed to authenticate towards plex.tv. Please check username and password, as well as network access” anyways. My Preferences.xml file always has the correct username and id information in it. I’ve read through similar forum posts over and over, and it’s a crap-shoot if the solutions works or not.

Why does this keep happening over and over again? What can I do to fix this? And even better, what can I do to fix this permanently?

Hmm ok. Yeah I’ve seen that post before. I’ve been using its suggestions and still have problems. Thanks for the suggestion about the eth0 port 1 vs port 2. I never really paid attention to that. Maybe that’s the cause of some of my troubles. I’ve seen those errors you’ve pasted in the logs before but never could figure out why they were occurring. Following the other post, it always appeared as if my Plex was operating successfully outside the VPN. I’ll try rebooting everything again and see what happens.
