Hi, I host Plex on a remote (ultra.cc) server.
My two local servers show up in Plexamp sources but my remote server does not. I am using an iPhone and have Plex Pass.
I checked Plex and both remote server and iPhone are in devices and also show up in Plex as source, just not Plexamp.
I have rebooted phone and server and also uninstalled/reinstalled Plexamp on the iPhone.
Is there a way in Plexamp to manually add a server? Or, any suggestions?
Thanks!
Please post Plexamp logs and tell us what the name of the server is, and we can see what it’s trying. In general you shouldn’t need to do anything to get it to show up differently than Plex.
A possible explanation to server not showing up in Plexamp.
After adding content to the music library, the server jdizzy-niagara is now listed on available server list within Plexamp.
Thank you for your time on this matter!
Another observation is that guest dj does not appear for downloaded music. Probably due to the sonic analysis info being on the server rather than in a tag in file. But, for us that move through areas of no internet having guest dj available for downloads would be great!
Thanks for this amazing app! (I was using something similar ‘Mixonset’ which requires iTunes files. Meaning my having to convert my music to ALAC….

Ah yeah, that explains it!
Correct, and it needs more than a tag to work, it’s a very server-centric feature.
