Server problems
You cannot search for movies in the server libraries, just search the Plex library.
Sometimes it does not play secondary audios or subtitles.
The metadata is not updated.
And these problems started on
2021-03-19 after a Plex Media Server update.
You might want to be a bit more specific.
Search issues
What do you mean by “server library” vs. “Plex library”?
If your own libraries are not showing, double check the advanced library settings of each library to confirm they’re set to be included in the global search. On some clients search is by default limited to “pinned” libraries.
Audio/subtitle issues
Not clear what you mean or what exactly is happening. You have media with multiple audio/subtitle settings and after selecting an alternate track it’s not playing?!
Metadata updates
How so? Are you manually triggering a metadata update or relying on some scheduled task?
Not sure those issues are related to the server. Though it might be helpful to update to the latest public version (1.22.3).
Tom I’m going to be more specific.
When I look for one of my movies on my server, doing a global search, it doesn’t find it.
For example, if I search fast & furious of which I have all the collections on my server, it throws me a search in the movies that are in the libraries that have plex by default but it does not find it in my library of PG13 movies and they are all anchored, If they weren’t anchored, I wouldn’t be able to see any of my movies.
And the search does not work neither on my LG Oled television nor on my computer.
So it is impossible to find something in the large number of movies that I have (more or less 3,000).
The problems I have with the audio and subtitles is that when I want to change the audio from Spanish to English of a movie
or a subtitle. The audio is only heard in English despite the fact that in the yellow box of my TV player it keeps saying that it is in Spanish and the strangest thing is that when I do it with my main user it works better than when I do it with my other users and it’s worse when my guests do it.
And finally, the problem I have with the metadata is that I always use The Movie Database agent, but now when it matches the movie, it finds it but it doesn’t change the cover and I don’t get the artists or the comments of the movie. , it deletes the original name and the date and does not show related movies.

I’m already afraid to update the Plex Media Server because every time I update it, I get Various Errors.

I have my media server on an Nvidia Shield
And all my movies I have on an 8TB disk.
Everything was working perfect but for the date of 2021-03-19 that I made the last update everything started to fail.

But when I look for it in the Nvidia Play Store it tells me that the App is up to date and that there are no more updates.
I thought there was a problem in the disk but I extracted it with all the protocol that nvidia asks me, I connected it to my computer and it never threw me some kind of error.
The only thing that is different is that I only have 100 GB of space left but I think that is not a problem.
I was seriously thinking about moving to Plex Lifetime Pass but am a bit disappointed with these kinds of issues.
I understand that everything must be updated due to the new innovations of the program but I have a motto which is that if something is working well it is better to leave it alone.
I appreciate if you can help me solve my problem since for my Plex is the best media player that exists, in fact I like it more than the Netflix media player.
I use it too much and I don’t want to change the way I watch movies.
Search
What agent are you using for those libraries?
The Plex Movie and TV-Show agents have an option in their Advanced tab that controls the Visibility of its content:
Include in home screen and global search→ items will show in searchExclude from home screen→ items should show in searchExclude from home screen and global search→ items won’t show in search!
The quick search results you might see while typing your query might be limited. Sometimes, e.g. in Plex Web, you’ll only see the full results after pressing return or clicking Show All (otherwise the quick search in Plex Web will only show 3 items per type). This can cause you missing some items on first look if your search term returns far more items (e.g. for a franchise like Fast & Furious).
Language issues
What player/client app is that? Are you using the Shield for playback as well or is this using the LG client? I need to admit I haven’t seen/heard of that problem yet.
Do you experience this behavior on the same movie (working ok for your admin user, worse for other users, badly for the guest)?
Metadata
Sounds like there’s an issue with your setup. Can you share your server logs after adding some media?
What’s weird is that the media seems to be matched, so it’ll get to show the related albums/tracks, while it’s failing to download the actual metadata.

PMS 1.22.2.4282 was only released to the beta channel on April 5 and to the public on April 7. So I’m a bit confused about that.
