I’m at my bloody wits end here as well… Password changed as ‘requested’ by that data breach email… Now I can’t access my stuff through Plex. Effing brilliant. Seriously thinking of ditching this mess of an app all together.
I have access to a friend’s NAS which seems to get picked up on immediately by Plex but not my own NAS (DS218play).
EDIT: Uninstalled Plex. Rebooted NAS. Installed Plex… still the same issue. A friend’s external NAS is seen immediately but my own local NAS is no where to be found.
EDIT 2: It’s working again. What I did: (on a Synology)
1- Logged out of Plex everywhere (local and online via the browser).
2- Uninstalled Plex.
3- Removed Plex Certificate.
4- Rebooted NAS.
5- Re-installed Plex.
6- Re-imported the certificate.
7- Stopped Plex from running:
8- Searched for Preferences.xml in \NAS-DS218P\Plex\Library\Application Support\Plex Media Server.
9- Copy/pasted that file to my desktop (just for back-up’s sake in case I effed something up).
10- Searched for allowedNetworks inside Preferences.xml and made sure the IP was correct.
11- It was set to 192.168.1.1 for some reason, my NAS is on 192.168.2.31 So I changed that 1 to a 2.
12- Started Plex again.
13- Opened my browser; accessed Plex via the IP directly (ip_of_NAS:34200/web) and my NAS was found straight away!
It’s quite possible step 7 (and thus 12) isn’t even necessary and step 11 is all you need but this is the whole tree of actions I performed.
EDIT3: I noticed my libraries were not accessible. Though Plex did see them, I could not play any video files. I fixed that by once again doing step 7 and then updating Plex again (with the same update file I already had). Then I ran Plex and everything was hunkydory!
Server reinstalled (last version) on WD MyCloudEX2 Ultra.
PWD account reset on Plex portal.
Good : I have access again to my server but nothing more : The UI recommends me to download the server …
After reconnect : User Not autorized …
Is there a solution before moving back to Kodi, Serviio ?
