Most common cause is that the server is signed in to a different plex.tv account from the one you are signed into on Plex Web

Logs would be needed from web app and the server and screenshot showing url and time
Best to restart the system and try again with debug logging enabled

Thanks for your very quick and generic answers – you seem to be diligent in administering this site (good job on that)… but I have done all that has been previously suggested in the previous comments and I see that several people have already submitted their logs (with no results). So I was just asking if any other more detailed suggestion can come up…

I’m doing my own investigation and log checking in the meantime.

SOLVED: (for my case at least – after more than an hour of fixing)

Problem was with the settings and metadata files. Mine was either corrupted or had permission problems (I didn’t check exactly what the problem was) but a restore from a previous backup of the Plex settings and metadata files (usual defaults are \Username\AppData in Windows and /var/lib/plexmediaserver in Linux) did the trick. Prior to this, the usual server stop and start didn’t do anything. Neither did a reinstallation of the program. Hope this helps the next guy with this problem.

Had this issue. What worked for me was deleting the Sub-Zero.bundle directory from the Plugins folder. I was then able to reinstall the plugin and use it.

I am an Archlinux user and I have the same problem. It happened to me trying to put the IPTV.bundle. It appears that I have no server and IPTV does not work.

Restart the server to see if it makes a difference

Locate the logs and copy out and zip the copy and attach here
See this support article for location of Logs
https://support.plex.tv/articles/202915258-where-is-the-plex-media-server-data-directory-located/
The Logs folder would be below the paths given on this article
When copying out . include subdirectories as well

The solution for me is to right click and install as administrator and works everytime. It is stupid I have to keep doing that.

I’m on Windows 7, using version 1.14.0.5470, deleting the .bundle directory(ies) in the C:\Users(Your User)\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-ins did the trick. Confirmed to still work as of this update. I noticed I got this error when trying to update my Plex server using Plex web to the newest version.

Doesn’t work on Win2016 :disappointed_relieved:

Solution in Server Settings Unavailable and Local host isn't working
My Server work fine now.
I’ve reset ACL (Security file) and relaunch PMS.

Just wanted to say after completely wiping and restarting my server and having this issue arise again I was ready to tear my hair out. But after doing this, it worked, I went ahead and deleted all of the bundles, because I wasn’t using most of them.

Hi - I am having what seems to be a similar problem

After working fine - it now says that the Media Server settings are not available
How do I identify which Plex.tv account it might now be signed in to ?
And why has it gone from working to not working - what is the change ?

Thanks

Please find a copy of the logs around the time that the media server was closed down
Can you tell why the server was closed down ?

Perhaps an auto update ?

If this happens and assuming you have not disabled server debug logging, restart the server, try to access the server and get a screenshot if unable to access it.
Then locate the Logs directory and copy out and zip the copy and attach

Plex Media Library Settings Unavailable
Hi, I am using Plex Version 3.108.2
I am a plex pass member
This was working fine and then this error began some weeks ago
I reinstalled plex and began the task of reinstalling the database as well
Was going along just fine for about a week and then this error began again.
It will not load the metadata and when trying to match a file the agents and languages just continually load.
I have tried supplying the manually zipped logs from around the time everything went haywire

I haven’t received any response since I sent the logs
If I am breaking some protocol - I apologise
however I am getting really frustrated here
I have followed as many of the forum tips as I understand to do so

I really need some guidance here as I have a good size database that Plex used to
do a great job in cataloging and now I just have panels of picture grabs with none of the data that made Plex so great to enjoy.

Can you please assist me - I really need some specific help

Thanks and regards
John

sorry - I do have a backlog of issues to investigate
