Server Version#:1.23.0.4459-20536
Player Version#:
I have been running plex on this server for well over two years on this exact machine now and today it finally died.
Lost the ability to access server settings today after trying to update to this version. I have tried deleting the registry keys, repair install and even uninstalling it and reinstalling it. I now get that I have to reclaim my server but every time I click on that it takes me to the “server settings unavailable”
How am I supposed to reclaim my sever when the settings are unavailable ?.
Are you accessing this unclaimed server through the local/bundled web app? (e.g. http://127.0.0.1:32400/web if you’re browsing to the link from the same machine, http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web otherwise)?
From there you should be able to access Settings > [Server Name] > General to sign the server in with your Plex account.
I am accessing it through the local address and getting the “sever settings unavailable” when I try to claim the server
Update, ok so now for some unknown reason when I clicked on general I got the ability to claim the server. I did nothing different on this end so I’m guessing Plex is screwed on the backend.
Same thing happened to me today, rolling back to the previous update got me up and running again…
That should not be necessary or will probably only temporarily “un-choke” some underlying issue in your setup.
Any solutions here?
Same issue for me!
I can’t access the server settings at all as soon as I upgrade to
Server Version#: 1.23.0.4459
or
Server Version#: 1.23.0.4438
Last working version for me is
Server Version#:1.22.3.4392.
I tried the newer versions, which fail. The error is reproducable, but I can roll back every time to 1.22.3.4392 and everything’s working fine again. Been running Plex on this particular machine for way over 3 years without any issues. (Plex is running in a FreeBSD based jail on a FreeNAS [now TrueNAS] system).
There is also no difference if I access the server via plex.tv and the “Launch” Button or if I go locally on http://[local ip]:32400/web/
I also tried the plex media player application for windows, but same result there, Server settings are not accessible.
The library and playback, however, works without any issues. I just cant access the settings, which eventually renders the system partly usless.
I disabled auto updates now and waiting for things to change.
How did you roll back to that version ?. I have my settings back but it is buffering like hell all of the sudden.
At least on Linux/FreeBSD you just need the old installation package and replace the contained files. I’d assume same goes for Windows Installations, just install the older version over the newer one. But that’s just a wild guess, I have never run Plex on Windows. Best to backup your database and config before trying that.
I have exactly the same problems. Just getting “Server settings are unavailable” since 1.23.0.4438.
I also went back to 1.22.3.439 in order to resolve this (latest public version).
1.23.0.4459 on Windows 7 stopped matching any new content, in addition to the “Server settings unavailable” on every setting page.
I have same error, My version 1.23.0.4459, please fix it.
Settings unavailable is back again. I thought I had it working yesterday but apparently not. I’m going to try rolling it back to the latest public release later today.
I uninstalled 1.23.0.4459 via the windows control panel and then installed 1.22.3.4392 as the latest public release. Fortunately all of my libraries etc are still there and now the settings work again.
I think version 1.23.0.4459 crash system. Hope Plex Team fix it soon
Updated to 1.23.0.4459 same issue - got it working 5/01 (remove some files & folders in the AppData Plex folder
Updated to 1.23.0.4482 same issue AGAIN, so whats the fix this time?
Same setup with same issue as angelus249. What is going on Plex? This is a major issue and it should be addressed pronto.
Server settings are unavailable - Major Issue where is the fix?
I used my server last night to watch movies on my Roku TV all was good.
Woke at 5 am and was going to watch a movie and guess what… that’s right
Server settings are unavailable again, its now 3:03 pm and the issues is the same.
Checked forum and no clues to when or if there even working the issues.
Checked for PMS update and there was a new release (non-beta) 1.23.0.4497-a1b1f3c10-x86
Downloaded and installed - same issues - Server settings are unavailable
I not sure about others but this has been a major issue for about a week and there does not seem much going on at Plex to solve the issue.
Thanks
Update
4:58 PM EST library
Added a New Artist to my Music to my accessing library and because of the ongoing issues with PMS when doing scan library it has ran over 2 hrs and not located the new Artist with 10 Albums…
So I tested by adding a movie which never was found and added.
and zero reply by Plex…!
Thanks
FWIW, that’s still a beta.
Plex Media Server 1.23.0.4497 is now available to Plex Pass users in the Beta update channel.
