Server showing as "indirect"

Just a couple of days ago I put on a show and it said that it was an indirect connection and now I can’t stream locally at 1080p. When I login to the server it states that its an “indirect connection”

Secure connection already set to “preferred” even tried disabling secure connection all together, but then my server appears offline. Keep in mind all of this is local on the same network and devices on the same subnet. I have not changed anything on my network that would make sense, help!

Edit:
I have isolated the issue to devices that are wired on my network. For whatever reason devices that are wireless do not have the issue. This doesn’t help me understand the issue since one of my wired IP’s is one up from the wired IP of my server.

Also, I just upgrade my CPU/motherboard/RAM, but my SSD and HDD all stayed the same.

Does your server have both wired and wireless network adapters?
Do you switch network connection type of the server occasionally?
After doing so, I recommend you to stop and restart the server.

Do you have several ‘router’-type devices in your home network?
Any WiFi repeaters? or PowerLAN adapters?
Does your router support dividing your network into an ‘internal’ and a ‘guest’ network?

Do also see this thread: Computers on local network showing up as remote connections all of a sudden

Does your server have both wired and wireless network adapters? Only wired network adapter
Do you switch network connection type of the server occasionally? No, it is wired all of the time
After doing so, I recommend you to stop and restart the server. I have stopped/restarted services and rebooted server several times with no luck

Do you have several ‘router’-type devices in your home network? I have 1 router and 1 access point. If device is connected to either (wireless) it works just fine.
Any WiFi repeaters? or PowerLAN adapters? No
Does your router support dividing your network into an ‘internal’ and a ‘guest’ network? Yes, but it is not enabled

As for the link you posted, I have tried several variations for DNS (Google, cloudflare, Comcast default DNS etc…) with no luck.

Did you also verify the other things I mentioned in there?
Does your router have settings related to ‘DNS rebinding protection’?
Did you reboot each wired client device every time after changing the DNS in the router?

There is no specific DNS rebinding protection setting I can find on my router. I read a somewhat related thread that talked on this and I ran some testing that I “think” proved it was not enabled on my network though.

At this point I am considering blowing away my Plex server and starting from new (not deleting my content though of course) The timeline of this issue and having re-built my PC with new hardware makes me think that the issue came from the new hardware. Maybe its a bad idea though, not sure.

SOLVED!!

I did two things under settings >> network I specified my wired IP next to “Preferred network interface” (not sure if that was really what fixed it) but I also unchecked the box “treat WAN IP As LAN Bandwidth” once I did that, connections on my network no longer show as an indirect connection. Woohoo!
