Server showing error message unreachable

I have a Nas DS224+. Everything is running fine but didn’t run into an issue until updating to latest version of Plex. Everytime I try to access my library it shows a error message in Plex that says "Nas is unreachable. Make sure its running, double check your network, and try again. And I’m also getting server insecure. I can’t even access my settings to change anything. I’ve exhausted all efforts to fix this and thinking about restarting from scratch and resetting.

DSM version? Synology Control Panel → Info Center

Plex Media Server version? Displayed in Synology Package Center.

Check if the server is claimed:

Point a browser at the IP address of the NAS: http://nas_ip_addr:32400/identity. For example, if the IP address is 10.1.2.3, use http://10.1.2.3:32400/identity.
You should see one line of XML containing claimed="0" (unclaimed) or claimed="1" (claimed).
Which is displayed?

Server Log Files

Please supply a set of server log files. A few extra steps are necessary since you cannot reach server settings in Plex Web.

  1. Stop Plex Media Server and wait 1 minute.
  2. Start Plex Media Server (the stop/start bumps the log files).
  3. Wait 3 minutes for the server to fully start & log the startup sequence.
  4. Stop Plex Media Server.
  5. Using File Station, navigate to the Plex Data Folder.
Right click on the Logs directory and choose “Compress to Logs.zip.”
  6. Download the zip file and post to the thread.

Some other items to check…

DNS Settings

  • Synology Control Panel → Network → General tab.
  • Configure the NAS to use a public DNS server such as 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google).

Synchronize NAS with NTP server

  • Synology Control Panel → Regional Options → Time tab
  • In Time Setting section, chose Synchronize with NTP Server
  • Pick a server from the drop down list, then click Update Now.
  • You should see Status = Normal.

Configure the NAS to send notification e-mails

  • Synology Control Panel → Notifications → E-mail tab
  • E-mail section
  • Configure the sender e-mail address to use when sending notifications (I use my Gmail address).
  • A Recipient Profile is not necessary.
  • Scheduled tasks are sometimes used to fix problems with Plex Media Server. This ensures you will receive an e-mail when such a task completes.
