Hi all
I’m having an annoying issue with plex which I hope there is a workaround. I’m currently running rc3, with PMS on a local win7 PC.
My issue is to do with the server going to sleep. If I watch a TV show, the server will go to sleep basically as soon as the show finishes playing. I don’t even have time to scroll to the next episode. It makes it annoying to watch a series on TV, as I’m constantly waking the PC.
Any thoughts? I don’t want to simply increase the “time to sleep” setting of windows 7 (currently set to 20 mins).
The way I see it, the 20 mins should start counting from the time the TV show finishes. Or even better, from the last time the pi did anything, including pausing a show, or scrolling through a list.
Thanks in advance
Matt
This sounds like a PMS issue - are you sure it’s related to RasPlex?
Does it also occur when playing on another client?
To be honest I don’t know. I only use the one client. I may well be PMS…
Hello Mooturner
I want to bring this topic back to life again as I have the same problem as you had. My PC which is running Plex Server goes to sleep as soon as I have finished watching a show.
I was wondering if you found a solution to this problem as I cannot find one on the network.
Sorry for being thick but what do you mean by PMS
For information purposes my set up is as follows
i have a PC running windows 7 and PLEX Server installed.
My TV connects to a Raspberry pi which is running RASPLEX as a client
Thanks for any help

The 'time to sleep' is from the last time you moved the mouse or used the keyboard, however, as PMS (Plex Media Server) was serving content it will not sleep until that task has finished, which it does as soon as the TV show finishes, assuming that the TV show is more than 20 minutes long.
The only way round this is to suspend sleep on the PC for the period you will be watching something.
This is not a Rasplex issue, simply the way Windows works.

PMS = Plex Media Server, see response above.

Thanks for the reply, I see what you are saying and understand this is not a Rasplex issue. I will have to look at a way to turn the PC back on from sleep may be using the Pi or arduino or tern sleep of which i don't want to do as it saves on money.
thanks again :)
