I have a server set up and running nicely (under Windows 10, if that’s relevant). I have a bunch of clients on my LAN, a mixed bag of Windows 10, Android (phones, tablets), Chromecast v3 and a Samsung TV running Tizen.
From one moment to the next I started seeing an issue on just one of these clients a Windows 10 (Enterprise, Feature Update v1909), which is part of a corporate domain. At the moment this PC is on my home LAN. A few hours ago I used the web client in Chrome without issues. I left the web client running in the background (not playing, just the page open), suddenly I started seeing this error message in a Windows 10 toast notification:
“Virus&threat protection Connection blocked Your IT administrator caused Windows Security to block this network connection/ Contact your IT help desk.”
The web client loads but it now says the server is unreachable. I installed the Windows client to check if that mattered but it displays the same behavior. This tells me the issue is local to the PC but I’m stumped where to look.
I also have a hostname through ddns.net. I can, surpisingly open the web client through this host and it will run fine (I do get the above error message just once but there seems to be no issue) and play content.
The other clients work fine over the LAN or remotely (mobile network). The only change with regards to Windows Security Virus&threat protection that may have happened in the background is a definition update.
