Server Version#: 1.40.5.8921
Player Version#:
Following a recent (last month or two?) update, my server stopped being accessible to my players.
Expected Behavior
I expect my local players on iOS and appleTV to find my local server. I also expect to be able to connect to my server with the Plex Web App.
Actual Behavior
iOS and appleTV players tell me my server is unavailable. Plex Web App tells me it is unable to connect to my server securely.
Troubleshooting attempted
I have:
- checked Remote Access. Initially, it was using UPnP… I switched it to manual port forwarding and made corresponding changes on the router. I could get the server to tell me it was connected. I went back to Remote Access after poking around a few other menus and found that it thought it was disconnected. When I clicked retry, it came back and said I was connected again. After a few such experiences, I switched back to UPnP (current setting). Remote Access is consistently saying I am connected now but still no availability of my server. for players
- Checked secure networking. Secure connections are set to Preferred. No custom certificates are installed. I’m not sure what other information is useful or pertinent here. Basically, all the checkboxes are checked except for Strict TLS.
- Confirmed that when I access the server locally from a browser, it thinks it is serving content and accessible.
- Verified that all of the latest Windows patches and updates are installed.
- Verified that the latest Plex server version is installed.
- Verified on CanYouSeeMe.org that my entry port is visible from the Internet.
- Confirmed that I am not in a Double-NAT situation.
