Server Synology NAS - DSM Latest Ver, Plex latest Ver... Client Nvidia Shield Pro - LAN Issues

Server Version#: 4.156.0
Player Version#: latest Version for Android on shield
Network Performance over LAN checked with Iperf3 - 1GB constant… network perf checked over WLAN: 150MB/s

when using Plex (since the last serverupdate) on the shield via LAN it comes with network issues every 5 mins - over WLAN it is stable… youtube and so on is running stable over LAN and WLAN - I do not get it - any ideas

First of all, Plex is NOT responsible for the set up and configuration of your network, that is YOUR responsibility.

Reboot your modem/router and everything connected to it, including any wireless devices. That should clear any DNS cache corruption that may be causing your issues.

Check the usual suspects, broken Ethernet cables, dirty or poor fitting connectors, etc…

Also, go over all network settings and make sure nothing is out of place.

1Gbps of speed does NOT guarantee that you can carry 1Gb of data every second, it simply means that any data it can carry will be transmitted at 1Gbps.

If you tell us what kind of error messages you are seeing and provide your server logs, that would probably help.

1Gb(it) is ~125 MB(ytes)/s

You have a 10 Gbps LAN?

Be careful with “b” vs “B” in this context.
“b” = bits
“B” = bytes

The Nvidia Shield Pro (2019 version)

  1. Maximum WiFi = 1280 Mbps (802.11ac - WiFi 5)
  2. Maximum Wired = 1000 Mbps (802.3)

Hello… you are right Shiehl is connectet via 1000Gb/s

the Synology NAS is in my 10Gb/s LAN so my important workstations - the Unifi Accesspoints are connected via 1Gb LAN… but I do not get it, that it states “connection to slow, can not reach server” - hardware is tested, cables are fine… it occurs since the last Plex Serverupdate on Synology Disk station
