Hi everyone. I am pretty new to plex and am having some issues with remote access. I am not having any issues when I connect locally, but cannot connect remotely. I have tried/done the following:
Manually set port to 32400, opened this port (inbound and outbound, TCP) through my firewall, and forwarded this port on my router.
Setting secure connection to required, then back to preferred.
Completely disabling firewall
Remote access is enabled, and shows successful connection
I am running on a windows platform.
I am not under a CGNAT, my public IP is the same as my router IP (no double NAT) and I have disabled my VPN. I cannot seem to think of anything else to try, any suggestions? Thanks!
The network connection is public. I just checked and I can access media from my local network by directly visiting the IP, but I still get a secure connection error when I try to go through the app/website.
Are you clear on what’s being asked here? There’s a Windows setting which determines whether a particular network should be considered private or public. It has implications for how it’s treated by the firewall. From Windows 11:
I have a dynamic DNS setup, is there a way to route the traffic of plex apps/website through this address? If I use the address directly to access the server it works, but I still cannot use the actual website due to the same error (no secure connection)
