Issue has resurfaced for me, intermittently. Again, this is not only on a local network, but even from within the machine itself (client and server on a single machine, 127.0.0.1 can’t connect to itself). Also, the “recently added” isn’t updating again, if that ends up being a clue…
OK, looks like there’s an issue with Plex recognizing some things that have been downloaded. SabNZBd definitely downloaded them, I’ve confirmed they’re on disk and valid video files, but Plex doesn’t know about them, even after forcing a library update. That’s why “recently added” hasn’t changed.
I am having the same type of problem where the server can’t connect to itself and the Plex app does not load, there is no icon in the menu bar, and I have reinstalled the app several times. Anybody have any luck fixing this!
How to properly uninstall Plex, follow this support article exactly.
Then install again, also make sure your MacOS is fairly up to date.
