Server Unavailable

I just switched to a new computer. I have all of my media drives connected successfully to the new system (can access fine through windows) and have logged into Plex but it says my server is unavailable. Not sure what is wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked out this support article?

Thanks, but I wasn’t able to locate the directory or files mentioned in the article. A full computer search didn’t find them.

A few more details. My media is stored on two external drives both which are connected directly to the PC, not by wifi, etc. The previous computer connected to these fine. I have replaced the actual PC now and everything is connected exactly the same.

I am able to access these drives fine through the PC, but when I launch Plex is can’t connect to my server. All of my libraries say unavailable. I have completely uninstalled Plex and reinstalled but am having the same problem.

I am not very computer literate so I am not sure where to start.

I assume you’re on a Windows machine?
If so, you’ll need to look up your Registry… not a file.
If you’re on a different OS – let me know… maybe we can point you to the right folder

Fixed it another way. Deleted everything then set up from scratch. Seems to be working this time.
