Server unreachable only from TV

Hello guys,

I have an issue with my plex server that i can’t understand…

I have a plex server installed on my windows PC. I’ve streamed on my network without any issues until about a week ago. I streamed a movie on my TV through Plex, after the movie there was a server update available so I updated the server.

A couple of days later I wanted to watch a movie but it asked me for a remote pass even though I’m on the same network. So I completely disabled the remote access from my server and now my plex server appears unreachable / offline from the TV.

This ONLY happens from my TV. From my cell phone app, connected to the same WiFi network as my TV, streaming works.

I already tried to reset my app tv completely (cleaning cache etc) and logging in again to plex but the issue is still there.

Also there are no new versions of the app to be installed on the TV (it’s an LG tv).

Can anyone help me understand where is the problem?

I guess I fixed it!!

I don’t know which of the actions i did actually fixed it but I:

  • added my home subnet in the “access without authorization” in the network settings of plex server
  • changed settings in the TV app to ALWAYS use unsecured connection

And now suddenly I can connnect again from the TV, yay!

I just had the same problem. The Plex App on my LG CX asks for a Remote Watch Pass.

Im on my home WiFi and on my phone everything works.

Last night i streamed a movie on the TV without a problem and i did not touch anything since then.

Changing the connection settings fixed it for me too! Thank you for the solution :waving_hand:t3::smiley:
