Why can't I reach the server anymore? (Did everything in FAQ)

Okay, new to plex here. It was working in the house on my local network, so I bought a lifetime subscription, updated everything, and it worked for about a minute after that.
Now I can no longer connect to the server, which sits on the same local network in the house (and is physically a couple of feet away on the same switch). Remote access also refuses to work. The FAQ has been completely useless. Yes I’ve done EVERYTHING on it, and yes everything is set like the FAQ says.
Yes I’ve stopped and restarted.

So, anyone got any ideas? Are there some hidden settings someplace not mentioned in the FAQ? Or did I just blow a hundred bucks?

You’re not giving us alot to work with!
So maybe you should tell us something usefull about your install?

Can you access it from the Web app?

That’s how I’m trying to access it.
I have learned that it no longer works using firefox, but it does work with Pale Moon. So I guess the recent update on firefox no longer allows plex. And since I tried it in Pale Moon, it now is working on the PS4 again.

However, the ‘Remote Access’ feature still doesn’t work. No clue at all what’s wrong there.

In order to get reliable Remote Access, you’ll have to enable Port Forwarding in both Plex and your Router.

It’s the typical default install on a windows 7 (Pro) box. Turned off requiring secure connections, because that was causing issues before I bought the pass (because it wasn’t working in house). I honestly don’t have a lot of time to troubleshoot this stuff. People told me ‘it works right out of the box’ and yeah, seems to work fine for them.
Maybe I’ll drag one of those over here and let them mess with it.

You might possibly find some luck through the Web App by signing out and signing back in to your server.
Upper right hand corner of the Web App.

As with most things, yes… it can work well right out of the box. If you throw some custom tuning at it, it will work better. Plex can’t force your router settings, and both Plex and your router need to be changed for the connection to go solid. As a result, out of the box it’s set up in a more friendly universal way on a default install to match most systems.

Why did it goof after you got Plex Pass? Don’t know… You could also try power cycling both the Plex server and your router, which may also help.

It looks like you’re venturing deeper down the rabbit hole… and there can be a bit of a learning curve. I assure you though, as you tackle these little things as they come along, you’ll only end up happier with your system. I was once in your shoes.

Guess you didn’t do everything in the FAQ after all :#
