More detail: this is an upgrade from an old installation on another machine. There are two hard drives with NTFS video files which worked before. The contents show up in the menus, but doing a scan does not result in the metadata loading.
File permissions correct ?
Yes, I did a chmod 777 -R on both drives in question. I also verified that the drives are boh set to rw.
Please have it attempt to refresh metadata
when that is complete, download the server logs ZIP file and attach here.
I’ll look at them

Here we go…
I’m going to start with making the point that your naming is horrid, TVShows/Love that Bob/LoveThatBob S04S32.mp4
-
You are using the wrong show title, and the filename should include spaces IE
TVShows/The Bob Cummings Show/Season x/The Bob Cummings Show SxxExx -
That file has
S04S32which I am guessing should beS04E32and as such will confuse plex -
Another example:
Death Valley Days/Death Valley Days Season 2/DEATH_V_DAYS_S2_D3that should just have the show name and Season directories IEDeath Valley Days/Season 2with the correctly named files in there.
Over the last couple of years the media scanner has gotten more strict in the naming requirements, which is why you may have gotten away with this in the past.
Thanks for the assist. I will go over the naming, although it’s a big enough job that I can’t do it today. I’m recovering from covid, and I’m just too weak to do much at a time.
It’s a side issue, but “Love that Bob” was the syndicated name for the “Bob Cummings Show.” It should have been a valid name, but I will fix it.
