I’m unable to get meta data for some shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I’ve plex danced, I’ve checked my file naming (Currently: TV/Brooklyn Nine-Nine/Season 6/Brooklyn Nine-Nine - s06e01 - Honeymoon.mkv). I’ve deleted cache data in var/lib/plexmediaserver/library/application support/plex media server/plug in support/caches. I’ve even deleted the whole library and re-added. I’ve matched file, I’ve unmatched file. I’m not getting meta data or posters. No dice. I’m out of ideas now.
and that is some fine naming right there too. Casual observation.
You don’t really need to disable LMA, it comes in handy at times, but do leave it at the bottom of the stack of active agents and it won’t misbehave (usually). It has nothing to do with this problem anyway.
No, not a Linus guy, but whatever your issue is - it ain’t that file name…lol
I will add this in an effort to help:
Negotiations with TVDB have been taking - a long time. I get an instant match, then it thinks about it, for what seem like an eternity (some 10s of seconds and longer) before the poster flips and everything is aboard.
Be sure you’re not too quick on the trigger.
… and now that you’ve been playing around with it - remove it, make sure it’s gone, clean the bundles, and put it back. Clean slate.
I’ve been pretty patient thus far (or at least I’d like to think I have been) with giving it ample time to fetch information, I don’t think I’m being to quick about it. I just removed it again, scanned, emptied trash, cleaned the bundles, put the show back, scanned. still no luck
I’m not all that familiar with linux but afaik every user/group/other has permission to read/write/create and delete files within my home/Videos/TV folder and all sub-folders inside that
I’m sorry I don’t know enough about linux to understand what you’re asking
I remember having permission issues in the past where plex wouldn’t see a file I added to the folder and to fix it I would just change all the permissions to allow all users create/delete privileges… probably not the most secure fix but like I said I don’t really understand enough about what I’m doing yet
I must first ask if you changed the plex username to something else
-OR-
you brought any part of this installation from another system.
I ask because I am seeing “Permission Denied” in areas where only PMS writes and maintains data.

The second error block is a very definitive fingerprint of having been copied or username changed.
I haven’t changed the plex username afaik BUT I did copy some file (don’t even recall what it was) from a previous machine to this one when transferring all my movies/shows etc in an attempt to not lose all of my settings.
If it’s a permissions error should I do I complete un-install of plex and re-install?
This puts user plex as the owner of the metadata directories .
With it owning the directories (Linux is very strict about permissions), PMS can write (save) metadata.
Now you can Refresh All Metadata
Anything missing will populate.
