Plex is not staying within set bandwith limits for remote players.
Any suggestions.
Need more details. Which limits are you referring to? The ones in the client or on your server.
Ok, go ahead and play something then get me the log from the Fire TV and from your PMS.
Ok. Think I know where to find them on PMS.
Where do I find the logs on fire tv?
Fire TV logs. Android, Android TV, Fire TV Logs | Plex Support
The 3 Mbps are just the target bitrate for the transcoder.
Particularly at playback start, the data are transferred as fast as possible to the client, so it can fill its buffer.
In this case the 8mbps of the overall upload speed setting are used. There can be bandwidth “peaks” which exceed the 8 Mbps for a very short time. This is mostly dependent on the real speed of your upload. But the short term average will be 8 Mbps, just as the preference says.
If there were 2 concurrent playback streams, they’d share this bandwidth of 8mbps.
Thanks, but thats not it, it did transcode until the last update. I turned it down to 320kbps to see if this was the case and still no transcode.
I also changed the 8mb value, it still did not transcode.
Ok, logs sent.
Have you heard anything back about this? Still running into the same bug, as is everyone with Fire Tv.
Any updates?
Not yet.
Ok. Thanks. DVR also stopped working a few days ago. I didn’t make any changes to server or client.
Any progress? This seems to be a pretty wide spread problem, would be nice to know it’s being worked on.
