Hoping to get this feature implemented. Emby has it, you can set your max bitrate the application can use. I have set mine on 100mbps and Emby has no issues playing 4k Remux from my Synology NAS. I am using Android TV on wireless since wireless can go up to 900mbps. When I use Plex to play 4k content, it tends to struggle and buffers even on the local network. Here is an example of what I mean.
Every Plex app has a quality/bitrate preference.
Additionally, the server can restrict the bitrate of remote connections as a whole and by-stream (Plex pass feature).
It’s got an option to select what quality to play the video but I don’t believe Plex is using the full potential of the network.
That would be then a bug, not a feature request.
I would like an option where I can force Plex to use X amount of network bandwidth for my movies and TV shows
