Can we no longer set the quality of playback based on network these days, I’m sure we could in the past but looking at the server settings I can only find ‘Internet’ based quality.
This should be part of the client settings!

Having clients able to pick how much bandwidth from the source they use isn’t a good thing personally for obvious reasons.
Do you know version of the media server it was changed in and I’ll see if I can roll back or just install that version and not update it.
I believe we’re talking about 2 sides of the same coin…
The information provided above aim at setting playback quality for different circumstances.
If you’re interested in restricting the available bandwidth in general you can do that in the settings on your Plex Media Server:
- go to
Settings > Remote Access - make sure
Advancedoptions are displayed - set the max. available
Internet upload speed(across all streams) - set the
Limit remote stream bitratefor individual streams
