I have some documentary in a “series” library which are not reconized by Plex and I would like to set a custom cover and background. It’s OK for background but not for cover.
I set the “Documentary” library to series because comme of them have multiple episodes, and there is no problem with them.
File names are for example : “the_title_S01E01.mkv”. I can see it in Plex, but the cover on the main screen is black and I have juste a part of the cover in its sheet.
I tried few solutions :
Select one on my PC in the Plex Interface
Copy a “cover.jpg” or a “same_file_name_than_the_serie.jpg” in the same folder
But with no result.
If you have a solution it would be great.

There is no solution to put a “full serie” poster ?
I have some series with a poster for the whole serie, and after landscape for each episode. I suppose not.
Of course there is. But you have always just edited the first episode and not the full series.
Click with your mouse on the series title, to get to the series preplay page.
I had similar things going on. Didn’t really want documentaries mixed in with theatrical movies, so I just created another movie library called Documentaries. Keeps things a little cleaner, at least in my mind.
It is always helpful to look up the media on TMDB/TVDB to see how they classify it because that is how Plex will treat it.
