Is there a way to set the default language on a library? So let’s say I have one library in English and one in French that get their files from the same source folder, because all the movies have an english and french audio track (properly identified in the metadata). Can I set each library to choose the respective language as the default audio track?
No, that is not possible.
However:
Would I be wrong to assume, that you have set up this second library for another user whose preferred language is different than yours?
If that is the case, then you only need to set up this user’s automatic track selection in the right way. (Or at least help him/her to make these selections)
These language preferences are stored in the each user’s plex.tv account.
Regular plex.tv users must set this for themselves here:
https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/account
(Audio & Subtitle Settings)
https://support.plex.tv/articles/204985278-account-audio-subtitle-language-settings/
For your managed users, you can do it by ‘becoming’ that user first (using the ‘Switch User’ command):
