Set Sync folder to External Location

We can now set the PMS metadata/databases folder to External Storage. This is working fine and it’s a really awesome feature that makes the 16GB SHIELD for the first time a real option as PMS server for medium/large collections. It is also possible to set the transcoding folder to external storage. However, it seems the sync transcodes are still trying to be done in the Internal storage? Is this expected and there is anyway to change it? Obviously, this makes the Sync feature unusable on the Shield. I was hoping the Sync folder would also be moved to external storage (there is a cache folder there after all) but this is not the case :frowning: Any technical reason that is preventing this from working? Log:

May 19, 2018 17:16:49.991 [9235] WARN - Low disk space: 9.75GB source file, 11.05GB capacity, 5.63GB available on “/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.plexapp.mediaserver.smb/cache/Transcode/Sync+/20462817/d3”

I would like to see this as well… I am just having the issue where my internal storage is going up due to me uploading large concert videos to my photo library. It’s showing 8GB after uploading like 6 large files (I have 12 more to go). These files are not going away but if I could have access to external storage I could just clean up that folder when I want too. Plex… Please make this happen!

Is there an update to this? I’m having the same problem and can’t sync much of my media to my ipad. Thanks!

BTW - I’ve tried setting the Transcode folder in setting to the external USB drive, and I still get the low disk space warning.

Bumping this one. Is there any plan on being able to set up a separate folder for Sync like we can do for transcoding? Would make the Shield a much better PMS solution. If somebody know if there is a technical limitation for this to happen it would be nice to know…

Is this issue still unresolved? In other words, does Plex always attempt to use the built-in system storage for Sync transcodes - which will fail for large files? This is literally the one reason why I had to give up on the Shield as a Plex server.
