Hi all,
I pressed on a setting by accident. now i can not see my nas sever. I have a WD Pro4100.
Ive tryed re adding it, can only see the two shared accounts from my friends
tryed uninstalling it and reinstalling it on the nas, nothing.
Restarting sever and pc, nothing
Is there a way anyone can help as im just going round in circles.
Thank you
How about you share WHAT you changed to start with?
If you unlinked your Plex Server from your account, you should still be able to connect to it using a direct connection / the local IP address of the WD Pro4100 (e.g. http://[wd pro4100 ip address:32400/web instead of http://app.plex.tv/desktop).
thank you for your reply.
Sorry, Im a beginner in all of this. i was looking at the settings on the main page of my server on plex . maybe i tick box on there.
so my ip for my nas is 192.168.1.238, how do i write that to get a direct connection
oh i see know.
That just takes me and the plex home page , where i can see just the two shares from my friends.
When i log on the my wd pr4100 site, the app is turned on and theres a button the says configure. press on that and it goes to the same page. so im signed in via the nas but plex cant see it.
much appreciated.
After opening the URL, go to Settings > [Server Name] > General and check if you can sign-in / link the server to your Plex account.
If there’s no server settings, you might need to do this from a private browser windows.
Yep, It askes me to sign it, then select a server, (my two friends servers) as mines not there. I select one. then go to settings and nothing is there.
You might need to look into the support article below that describes how to re-claim a server in that situation. That being said I’m not 100% sure it’ll give you all the bits and bytes for your WD My Cloud (you probably need to link the Linux reference to the specific Plex data folder location on the WD My Cloud).
ok,
question is how do i get there.
the wd nas manager is web based. I can open windows file system, and see my shares, but i can;t see anything else even if i select show hidden.
esay for you. i have no idea what im doing.
ive just downlaoded putty. Ive set the ssh connection to active on the wd with password.
ive typed it ip address
is askes for login- so i typed in admin and try to type the password but nothing shows up.
I don’t know the specifics of the WD My Cloud OS. On other NAS you’ll need to enable SSH access and potentially even specify what user/account can be used for that
