Settings: Plex Media Player, Video Aspect

Server Version#: 1.18.2.2029
Player Version#: 3.104.2
Windows 10

in the video aspect section of the pmp settings it states:

Note : The Custom entry means that it uses whatever custom values you may have specified in your mpv.conf file. See: [Advanced Configuration].

does this mean that if you choose not to use the “custom” entry (and instead use “display normally” for example) then none of the entries you’ve made to the the mpv.conf file will work, will be observed by plex, even the entries that have nothing to do with aspect ratio? or does this mean that only aspect ratio related entries to the mpv.conf file will be ignored?

thanks!

I’m pretty sure it only affects aspect ratio directives.

You can verify this for instance by defining a bold font face for subtitles in the mpv.conf Customizing Subtitle appearance in Plex Media Player (PMP)

i’ll give it a try, thanks, because it would be a shame if all other mpv.conf settings were ignored as well if aspect wasn’t set to custom…

yep, looks like plex will still reference the mpv.conf file even if you don’t use “custom” video aspect, which is great! thanks!
