I was unable to locate this “suggestion” during any of my searches.
However, If this has already been surfaced, please disregard.
When searching for items in Plex (including Discover), I often find what I’m looking for (especially for movies and/or shows “soon to be released”) and I’m able to save it to my watchlist.
However, AFAIK, there is currently NO option to share these items with other Plex Home members and/or my Friends with library access.
Maybe it’s just me, but with the direction Plex has been moving towards with all sharing and inclusive Social Media options, doesn’t this seem a bit counterproductive?
I welcome any feedback!
Once an item is on your Watchlist, you can share it.
On the discover page the share button is the box with an arrow pointing up. When clicked on you can share it with all friends or pick specific ones. Are you asking for Plex Home or Library Access folks be a sort of preset group that can be selected?
(Note that Managed accounts can’t use Discover)
* All Friends
* My Plex Home members
* Accounts with Library Access
* Friend 1
* Friend 2
* ....
@OttoKerner
Maybe I’m just NOT seeing it.
@BigWheel
Can you tell me, is there some specific reason, why a Plex Pass subscriber, would NOT be able to share these “Watchlist” items with Managed and/or Friends (even other Plex Pass subscribers?
A Plex Pass has absolutely nothing to do with Discover. It is not a server feature.
Managed accounts can’t use Discover due those types of accounts normally used for children and there are too many ways that inappropriate things can be shown as related. You will note in Online MEdia Sources settings you cannot enable Discover Source for managed accounts.
I’m guessing you have “Display activity from my friends on detail pages” disabled in Online Media Sources settings https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/online-media-sources .
Thank you for the detailed responses!
