sure public link can be legal issue - but we want just share it with users registered in that particular plex server
This was first requested in 2013, and still nothing. Iād like to be able to share personal content - home videos for example - where there is no legal issue. Really annoying that I need to upload it to some other site to share it, and then remove it again if it was a temporary thing.
Seriously. Today is my first day as a Plex user and I have already had to come to the forum for feature requests twice. Link sharing for your media is a MUSTā¦

I voted this feature as suggested my moderator in antother thread about sharing a single picture album to other users, hoping that making this possible for a single movie would also be extended to specific photo albums (thatās a really much needed feature for Plex to be a great replacement of Flick)
Wanting a feature like this for photos as well. We are having a baby soon, and I was hoping I could use Plex to share photos with family members that donāt have Plex accounts without having to post them on social media.

Public temp links I can share with anyone? Horrible idea.
Twitter and every other social media site would be full of links to movies where anyone could press them and watch a movie from your server and that would be associated with Plex. Thatās a great way to get really bad Press.
Not saying anyone here would do it but you know people would.

I would love to be able to share a particular movie or anything to my friends who donāt currently have plex. As a guest mode/temporary link so they can view it, and if anything it would be a great advertisement for plex. Even if it was a one time only link so it couldnāt be abused. Please add this

+1 - I keep some family videos in Plex and would love to share an individual video (such as my school debutante video) outside of family to the school community.

I suppose I could take my car and rob some banks too, should we outlaw cars? Probably notā¦ At some point people have to be responsible for their own actions and not expect Plex to āpolice by featureā. Also, there is nothing wrong with the Google Drive feature āthose with the link can viewā. As mentioned above, Subsonic does a great job of implementing this years ago including playlists, and nobody has died. Sorry so sarcastic, but itās true.
This would actually be an outstanding feature as I am trying to figure out how to share an HD video of a wedding right nowā¦ But I cantā¦ I have to upload it to YouTube. Sadā¦ As long as this has been controversial here at Plex I donāt see it ever getting implemented, but it sure would be nice if it ever does. Thanks for all the great work on Plex as itās really a great product overall. Regards.

Thereās already an example of a product getting a bad name and being banned in a lot of places, Kodi.
Google drive shuts down links if they are shared too much and are found to have copyrighted material. All those ādriveā sites do.
Not saying the world will end but you canāt really think you wouldnāt be opening a huge can of worms if Plex links could just go out willy nilly.
If you want to share your wedding video there are options like next cloud if you want to self host. Or use Vimeo or YouTube and make the video private. Or Iām sure many other personal video sites other than YouTube.
But hey agree to disagree.
hi, i think this option is mandatory, i know so many people who donāt want to subscribe to plex even if this is so simple and they can do it with their google account, because that simply too long for some or too hard for the other take for exemple my grandma, do you think she is going to connect with her google account (she dosenāt have one of course) to checkout her last episode of Little House ?
Letās stick with: you want that feature.
Grandma examples tend to go awfully wrong ā in particular when it comes to grandmas using mails (but not google mails nor a google account)

You can probably avoid this kind of behaviour if you can share with a limited number of emails/users. For example, āshare only with people that have these email addressesā, or āshare with anyone with access to the link and up to a maximum of 5 viewers simultaneouslyā.
This would be aweeeeeesssome! 
Some type of photo sharing with non plex users would be a great feature. I just assumed it would be available. I was wrong.
I will still have to install my gallery software I had in mind before thinking Plex could do this.
Looking forward to being able to have public galleries/photos on PLex.

Completely agree! I have a huge photo archive and canāt easily share selected albums. To get something shared online I have to create JPGs from RAW files, upload them to a google photos album, then share the album. Uggg
Imagine a world where you could open the plex, even the app on your phone, and select share on a specific folder/album to anyone that has the URL! Sooooooooo cool! Would be a Google photos killer for me! Not that anyone cares or listens to votes on here, but vote people, vote!!!
