I notice now in the playlists if you click on the 3 dots there is a “Share…” option for sharing playlists. You can either enter an email address or a plex user name. It seems pretty straight forward but it doesn’t work. Is this a new feature that isn’t operational yet?
Should be working. Can you explain why you think it doesn’t work? For the users you share with, it doesn’t appear under playlists. It will appear under the shared section. See https://support.plex.tv/articles/shared-media/ for details.
I can absolutely explain what I thought it wasn’t working… I didn’t understand it.
I didn’t realize it was shared media but rather thought it was a way of sharing a playlist. After the link you sent it makes sense. I was hoping that it was a way of sharing a playlist with another home user (and am still hoping that someday this will be a capability of Plex). It seems only the “owner” of the PMS can share a playlist and other family members cannot. It would be awesome for other family members to be able to share their playlists with the “owner” or “admin” of the PMS.

Totally would love to be able to share a playlist of shared movies with other shared users on my Plex server. Right now it does show under shared, but would love to see it under playlists.
It would also be awesome if other users of MY server could share their playlists with me (the admin).
