Shared server and shows all users "On Deck"

I dont know if this is an issue or not but, I have shared my server with some friends and I can see all of their actions on my server like the recently viewed stuff and the shows im watching get unmarked from them watching it. My "On Deck" shows gets completely knocked off my list and shows what the other users are viewing.

How do I separate my recently viewed stuff and "On Deck" shows library from the other accounts?

Are your friends using different account than you, and are they using latest Plex Home Theater? If so, you have the same problem as me. Thought i was the only one.
If your friends use Plex Web player then they do not interact with your "deck". But thats not a good solution. :/

I experience the same issue. I have shared my library to a couple of friends and when they watch an old episode of a show on my On Deck section, their episode replace my episode and “break” my episode count. This must be a bug, right?

yeah...the friends use their own accounts and one has his own plex server which shows him my shared content, the other one uses the android app and pulls up the shared content like you would on the server. the issue I'm having is whatever they have watched gets put into my on deck queue or gets marked "Watched" even when I haven't watched the content. just same as both posts above. I thought it would be separated from the other accounts?? Is there an option i'm not checking? I need something to separate the stuff that they watch on their own stuff from mine!!!

frustrated and about to kick my friends off my stuff lol!!

I have this same issue.  I am not about to kick my friends off but it is a little frustrating.  Mostly when we are watching the same things.  I may be half way through Season 6 Episode 12 of That 70's show but my friend is only on season 3.  My on deck shows what he has watched and where is he at (if he was the last to watch it)

it's not a feature of multiuser, multi user would give everyone their own on deck and recently watched status. What is being described here is users who are sharing the server owners library are updating the server owners on deck with what they're watching. I'm having the same issue, very annoying. no fix as yet I presume?

Any updates on this? Has anyone been able to resolve? It’s getting very annoying :frowning:

This is a PlexPass feature. If the sever is not logged in and published with a PlexPass account, then any use who watches content will get marked as the main user. If you are logged into a plexpass account on the PMS and things are being marked as watched by other users, then that’s a bug. It was happening a bit last month when myPlex kept going down ( PMS loses it’s multi user functions when it cannot contacts myPlex servers to verify plexpass )

I am logged in as a plexpass user on the PMS and have double checked that authentication for local network is on and that my local rokus and remote ones all are associated to the non plex pass secondary user accounts. Definitely seems like a bug.

Seems like this is happening to me. I haven't confirmed it  yet since it seems to have only occurred last night and tonight. So even though I haven't watched Gravity on plex yet, this morning I woke up to see it half way through on my On Deck, I figured I must've accidentally let it play, so no worries, I marked it as unwatched. Tonight however, I can see one of my friends is watching Lone Survivor currently, and it is now on my On Deck as well. I am a PlexPass member and signed in on my PMS. Bug?

Same issue here, but it only seems to happen on the roku (rarflix) which is signed into my plexpass account.

I've had this happening to me for a couple of months now. Only a really small fraction of what they watch appears in my on deck but it does happen. With PlexWatch I've confirmed that when this happens the PMS is registering the playback on a local IP, usually on the gateway/Router.

Sounds like a bug to me.

Have you set the PMS to require authentication? This will fix most of the issues as your Roku and shared users will be required to connect to the PMS authenticated.

It’s also possible to happen if the PMS losses connection to myPlex, which has happened a few times during those myPlex outages. The PlexPass PMS version is better though at handling those outages.

The only option I found for authentication requirement is for the local address, is that the one you are referring to? I assume that could still work for remote users as plex is really just port forwarded.

Having the same issues :frowning: + Shared user libraries don’t have onDeck? Or is that broken too ?

Shared users dont get the full "on deck / recently added" views if they don't have their own PMS's. I´m hoping that will change in the near future.

Since last one or two weeks (we are not able to identify the exact day when it started) we have the on-deck issue, too - but only in the apps. Plex.tv works fine.

Situation:

main account is running server and used for watching    ---> On Deck works fine (but sometimes showing up entries that do not belong to this account)

4 accounts which are using the server as shared      ----> On Deck doesn't work anymore. Nothing is shown. 'Recently added' the same.

every account has a PlexPass

Devices: Android mobiles and Tablets. Google TV-Box. Windows 8-App (well, On Deck did never work here since first install - long before the android devices followed).

Only using local network.

We tried the instructions of ljunkie, but that didn't solve it.

EDIT/UPDATE:

My husband just played a bit with the Windows 8 app and tells, that after watching a show the On Deck shows this entry - but it vanishes when pressing 'refresh' so On Deck is empty again. We can't see this effect on the android apps.

Does that mean, that the server is overwriting this/ doesn't safe this information?

Sorry, we are just users and don't now anything about logs and such technical things

This is still a big issue for me.

What makes it worse is that this is the only reason (aside from supporting great dev works) I actually bought the PlexPass.

Has any progress been made on this? Are anyone working on this?

Yeah also the same for me. I have my plex pass account logged into the server and my family accesses my server via their own plex accounts but they are messing up my own  on deck. Any news on this being fixed?
