I share my library with another user, we are both Lifetime Plex Pass. He has full access to download from my library - however he did but not now. That feature seems to have vanished from his end. He has the same server version. Everything appears normal at my end but he has lost the ability to ‘Download’ and only has ‘sync’, even though ‘Download’ is enable at my end. I have removed and added his user but the issue persists. Can anyone please help??
thanks
Server Version#:1.22.3.4523
Player Version#:
Capabilities vary by client. Which is he using?
Mobile clients support sync.
Plex for Windows & Mac supports download.
The SmartTV, Android TV, etc apps do not support either.
Thanks - he uses Plex server on a nas using the same server version number. It’s odd as the facility was there and now isn’t - but nothing has changed.
Client, not server.
Ah - I’ll have to check. I know he uses Mac so will ask. Thanks
So I’m the other user. My Plex server in on a qnap nas version 1.22.3.4523 which is accessed by tv’s etc on my network.
Connected to my Mac running os catalina 10.15.7. On the Mac I use Plex media player v 4.29.2. This was used to access other media server and download content to the Mac which then gets moved across to the nas library. But now I only get the sync option and only to mobile devices. Not able to download?!!
Not sure what is up with Plex Media Player. I see the option to download (select three vertical dots to the right of the sync button), but nothing happens.
You can download files using Plex Web. On the movie pre-play screen, choose More (three horizontal dots), then Download.
Plex for Mac & Windows can also download media. Select the download button on the movie pre-play screen. Note that Plex for Mac & Win downloads media to a preset location. See Download for Offline Access – Windows & MacOS.
Thanks for your help.
The issue has been resolved and he can download again
