So I had reached my 100 user limit on my server. Today I deleted users that hadn’t logged in a year. Then I tried to add a friend and it still says I have reached the 100 user share limit. Frustrating.
Do you have more than 1 server that you share? The limit is for your account which includes all servers you own.
nope. just one server
Are you sure? Double check your authorized devices list to make sure. The server doesn’t have to be running, it just had to have existed and still be listed on your account.
Ah you are a life saver. Yes my server used to be called a different name 3 yrs ago. It was still listed. Works now. Solved.
I read this discussion in detail and I pretty much have the same issue; however, I do have two servers under the same account and both are shared to the same users; are these users counted double for being shared to a second server?
Note: I also removed a number of user accounts from my server network and continue to receive an error message specifying that I’ve exceeded the 100 shared user limit.
Note: All software versions are current on both server hardware components.
Users are not double counted. Are you still having this issue? I see you are under 100 now.
Not at the moment. All seems to be working fine. I was in communication with a David (Plex employee); who I believe resolved my issue. He responded to an email I had sent to sharingexemption@plex.tv. I’m not sure as to whether or not an exemption was applied but again, all appears to be working fine. Thanks for the response. I really appreciate it.
