It would be nice / cool if PLEX would make the feature to share the Live-tv from DVR to the connect users (in same way as it already is possible to do it in EMBY) Since it is pretty annoying to be needing to pay for EMBY also just Forbes able to share Live-tv from DVR (because EMBY can’t in any other ways measure in quality to PLEX)
Pretty sure this is a licensing issue that Plex cannot win in the courts. You are talking about live TV and not DVR’ed programming you recorded? I can share recorded content after the fact.
Yes I’m talking about the live-tv part (not the record from my tv-channels
About license and courd ect. then it can’t be that big problem because if it was Then that feature wouldn’t be a part of EMBY (And it IS a possibility in EMBY already for the last 3-4 years to share the Live-tv channels from DVR to your users) so therefore I thought it also should be possible to add that feature in PLEX
Two separate things with the same name.
Plex provided streaming Live TV is available to everyone with a Plex account, no server required just a Plex client.
Over the Air (OTA) Live TV part of Live TV & DVR is shareable to home users. You can invite up to 15 users to your home and enable Live TV sharing.
Yes to other users logged on with MY account, but it is THAT I wish to prevent (AND what is possible to do on EMBY - users shared to just has to have an pro account “EMBY’S name for the PLEX PASS” (share it to my users who is NOT home users logged in withy account) so again it should be possible a lmk so for PKEX to make that, and there by not be left behind from EMBY in the fast lane
For Plex users that don’t have a server.
You can test this.
Create a new Plex account on a different email. Invite that account to your Plex home. It will have its own password. Share live TV with that home user.
This will never happen.
It has been requested before, numerous times already.
This is not a technical restriction, but a legal one.
It’s not up for debate.
Google “Aero” if you want to know more.
If any Plex competitor thinks they are immune to lawsuits like this, then that is their decision.
