+1 for sharing playlists. Over 3 years of asking by MANY users…
I was just chatting with them and they showed no interest at all in doing this. They basicly brushed me off with phrases like “things always as easy as they seem”. I was able to make this work 90% by using a custom channel that would read the database directly. The only issue was missing metadata (album, graphics and artist) in display. I can’t believe that if I can do it that easily, the actual developers cant accomplish this quickly and make many uses happy! Come on developers! Who is your priority cause it doesn’t appear to be customer’s.

I can create a library of using Links in place of shareable playlists, but this duplicates content.
For example, I have a son in college who is working on a film project. He asked for my recommendations of must-watch films that I have on my Plex. I created a playlist of the movies I have that are on the AFI top-100 of all-time. With no way to share it, I resorted to creating a folder, using Symbolic Links in that folder, then creating a library against that folder. This keeps all the metadata intact – but now any movie that I’ve symlinked shows up twice in searches. A simple playlist would be far simpler and easier to manage.

Wow. Two years after the last post and it’s still not a feature. I’ve been a supporter of Plex since the beginning.
Several of my family now have access to my movie library under their own accounts. And I never realized until today that they didn’t have access to what I thought was my master playlist.
As a developer myself I don’t see what the big deal is. You should be able to share a/the admin playlist with other users. all the movies are already there on the server. All the metadata is already there on the server. And you already spent the time organizing and creating the playlists.
Now I’ve got to look for a different app that supports this feature to replace Plex.
