Howdy guys, im trying to understand how sharing with family works.
So to understand this right, i have to “add friends” via email, they accept it.
Then they create a Plex account and then the log unto mine so they can access the library ?
Would be awesome if someone can clarify if i got this right because im not sure how Plex sharing works

Yes i looked into all this, just wondering if there was a simple answer to my question.
I dont understand these tutorials havent found any to be a solution.
Here is what you do.
You have the person you want to share your PMS with create an account at plex.tv
Have them tell you what their Plex User ID is. (You do not need their password)
Then go into your server select settings
then select Users
On the left select friends
Then click Invite friends
Here you add the Plex User ID given to you by your friend.
Now they will get an E-mail with a link to activate the remote access to your server.
After this, You can edit that friend’s capability, like which libraries can be accessed, Photo upload, Channel access… etc.

PS: Be advised some Plex clients cost. for example for Android or Apple you gotta buy the app (Unless you are Plex Pass). It’s cheap like $2 or something.
On Rokus, it’s free. And of course Plex Web is free.
