The new Discover functionality adds a “Share with Friends” button that allows you to share a movie with them. But the same share button is not present for TV shows or music. I’d like to see them added to I could share such things with friends. Is there any reason why this was left out?
For TV shows I think it should offer to share the show, season and individual episode. For music perhaps genre, artist, album or song.
I’m surprised that nobody’s chimed in on this. It seems arbitrary that things like Music and TV shows are not shareable but now Documentaries are also not shareable.
I have a video named Packing for Mars. IMDB classifies it as a documentary so I put it in a directory for Documentaries. I have a directory for Movies and a directory for Documentaries. I have a library configured in Plex for Movies and another for Documentaries. Both libraries have the same configuration. Videos in Movies have a Share with Friends button, videos from Documentaries do not have that. Yet Packing for Mars was shown in the Recently Added Movies section of the Home page.
For grins, I moved Packing for Mars to Movies and it disappeared from the Recently Added Movies and then reappeared. Now when I go to its page it has a Share with Friends button.
I have many libraries as I classified things like Movies, 4k, Concerts, Comedy, etc. I’d like to be able to Share with Friends stuff from Concerts, Comedies, etc. as easily as I can with Movies. Is there a way to configure this short of throwing everything into Movies?
