Sharing with others

I make lots of videos for people, and am looking for a way to easily share and allow download of said videos. I do not however want people to actually be able to make changes/deletions/edits etc to the server the video is stored on. The ability to send via email a link to said media would be what I’m after, something similar to what I’m currently using on zenfolio. I’m happy to pay for plex pass if the service can provide what I need.

Plex doesn’t work like this.
There are no links to a particular video if the user is not already a Plex user. And downloading is not allowed, only streaming.

Cheers for the quick response, totally understand plex wasn’t designed for this purpose. Re downloading, it was my understanding that files can be “downloaded” or “mobile sync’d” as long as the host server had plex pass, and that the other user would need both a plex user id and guest privileges on the host server, am I wrong in that assumption?
As an explanation as to what I’m doing, or at least trying to do is, I edit peoples holiday videos of the activities they do in the area, recently I’ve started using plex as a local server in the lodge to allow people to watch their videos on the many screens we have, I would like the ability for them to watch their video after they leave, as stated, currently I use zenfolio and send them a link, but as plex has the feature to watch “anywhere” I was hoping I could create a work around and stop using zenfolio. Having access to a specific video and not just the library isn’t crucial, my main concern is people not being able to edit what is on the host server.
If I’m totally barking up the wrong tree, no worries, just seems there should be a relatively easy workaround.
Anyway cheers again

That is correct, but Syncing is only possible on ‘mobile’ clients (Android, iOS) which are not freely available (They cost a one-time fee at the respective app stores).
The synced file is also not available to other apps on the device.

I don’t know what zenfolio does, but I think for offering your customers to download the files afterwards, you’d be better off using some kind of cloud storage (like e.g. GDrive) which allows sharing direct links to media files.
You can then tell them that the files will be available for a limited time for download. After that time you can erase them to free up storage space on the cloud.

Again cheers for your speedy response.
zenfolio is basically a cloud based storage, it’s a paid service hence me trying to avoid it.
You’ve been a great help.
cheers
