I have a 2017 nVidia Shield with a 256GB Sandisk flash drive to expand internal storage. Recently, it has begun to announce occasionally that the USB drive has disconnected, which causes the server to become unavailable. Usually, a reboot of the Shield fixes this.
Yesterday, after this occurred, a reboot (many reboots, actually) did not remedy this. When I restart the Shield, it shows the USB drive in place and the Plex server running, but the Plex server is NOT available. When I attempt to stop the server, it shows the Stopping Server dialog, but does not do so. No matter what I do, the server shows as running, but is unavailable.
All other Shield functions are fully available; just Plex is broken.
UPDATE: It finally came up after yet another Shield reboot. I have over a hundred collections that I have invested a lot of time into curating, and [correct me if I’m wrong] there seems to be no way to back them up. While it is still alive, I have taken screenshots of the collections so that I can recreate them if necessary. In the process of so doing, I have discovered that many of them are missing items. The obvious conclusion is that the Plex database has been corrupted.
