New Nvidia Shield. When setting up media server it fails. Does not ask for storage permission. I added permissions manual in server and player. Still fails after many un/re installs.
I have had quite a lot of failed setups today, and similarly, while the First Run setup process says ‘we are going to need permissions allowed’, it always moved straight to the next step without actually bringing up the Permissions Allow dialogue.
I did have some success when I deleted data and uninstalled both PMS and Plex client, but then going into settings and setting permissions manually on both before starting the Plex client for the first time, then it came up with the dialogue box, which I imagine was already redundant at that point anyway. Good luck if you are still trying.
