Plex Media Server Disappearing

Server Version#:1.27.2.5929
Player Version#:9.5.0.33736

Wondering If someone can help?
I have been using Plex App & Plex server on my Nvidia Shield Pro for the last 2 years with barely any issues, up until recently. For some reason my plex server keeps disappearing and I have tried everything, clearing cache, rebooting etc etc and it just doesn’t come back. This happened on Saturday and after trying all different methods to bring it back, out of pure frustartion I just deleted my server and started from scratch.
I reinstalled through my shield, rebuilt all my libraries and spent 6 hours yesterday doing it, and when I woke up this morning my plex settings on the tv screen, the server said ‘stopped’ and when pressing for it to start, it just wouldn’t. I then went into app permissions, show system apps, scrolled down to Plex Media Server, permissions and the files and media setting had changed itself to ‘Don’t Allow’.
I changed it back to ‘Allow’, went back into my plex settings and then the actual server settings to ‘start’ the server was completely gone.
Now I did get a new laptop in the last two weeks which came with Mcfee, I tried turning off vpn and firewall and it has not made any difference. I have even now uninstalled Mcfee and I am still in the same position. I am lost and frustrated and do not see the point in starting from scratch again only for the same thing to happen tomorrow.
Can anyone please help a not so tech savvy gal? :frowning:

I can’t see any way McFee on your computer could affect if settings on server running on shield or the shield itself.

Did you try restarting Shield after you changed it to allow

Yes I did.
I can see my plex server in the ‘Authorised Devices’ list on the Plex web interface.
I have a sandisk extreme pro usb connected as internal storage.
Everything was working fine until Saturday when all of a sudden the Plex Server just became unreachable and the toggles for it on the plex app disappeared.

That just means it was signed into your account previously so your account knows about it…

This is what is concerning and sounds like the server is not running on the shield at all.

diid you change this for the storage that the server uses when it was working?

Your browser console log screenhots you sent me just looks like the player app cannot see server. Which would be expected if the server is not running on the shield.

If you go into system apps again is the server there and can you chose Open from there. then check if the player app has it in it’s settings

No I have had the sandisk usb connected for the last 6 months.
When I go into system apps on the shield and locate the Plex Media Server, when I press on ‘Open’, it brings up a screen for about 1 second which says ‘You can manage Plex Media Server using the Plex app for Android application’ and nothing more happens

how are you accessing the server logs if you cannot access the server on the shield? Need the one called Plex Media Server.log

It also souunds like the permissions for files/folders might still be set wrong. I noticed on my shield when i go to the permissions of the app it does say “Do Not Allow” but when i actually open the permission “Allow” is set correctly.

also might want to check that the toggle for Remove Permissions is app isn's used is off

I am accessing the server logs through network.
The toggle for Remove Permissions if app isn’t used is off.
I have checked the permissions numerous times and the server one says ‘Allow’, and when I enter in on it it is set ‘Allow All The Time’ but this morning it had changed over night to ‘Don’t Allow’.
I can’t see a log ‘Plex Media Server.log’
Have sent a screenshot of what I can see in logs.

you have your computer set to not show file extensions. It is the one at the top of that list.
