Shield Remote physical buttons do not control Plex DVR Recordings

Issue;
Shield remote will not FF RW or Pause recorded TV with physical buttons during playback.
A progress bar appears when I press OK/Enter button on remote and it will navigate to pause, Forward, Fast Forward, Rewind Fast Rewind or any of the other illustrated functions, but when taping the center/OK/Enter button nothing happens.
Noteworthy;
Navigating to, selecting a recorded show, and starting playback is not an issue.
I can say to remote fast forward 1 minute and 30 seconds and the recording will advance
I can say to remote pause and it will pause. ETC ETC
Steps I’ve taken to fix;
Searched google
Drilled through Settings of Plex Server, Plex app on Shield, and Shield Android
Checked for available updates SW & FW for all devices associated and listed above. None were found through applets or online searches other than what I have running currently.
Questions
Is there a fix for this?
Is this a known issue?
Is it a Plex or Nvidia Shield issue?
I see older issue dating back to 2017 where Plex says it’s not supported. Obviously, this is not acceptable and at the very least has gone on way too long so I expect the bug/refinement to be fixed/supported.
The only reason I paid Plex the yearly subscription fee was for the DVR service if it doesn’t work or is poorly supported, I see no reason to continue with a half baked product. I want to think that is not the case.
