Should I just let my Plex remote access configure on its own by enabling upnp?

Hello
I am a newbie here. I’ve set up my Plex - a lot of trial and error. I’m using Plex just to store my movie library and online streaming.
The only thing that seem to bother me is the remote access.
I have done it all. Manually port forwarding, changing to static IP address.
It was running well for some time, then I had to reset my network and I got the red flag. Remote access not available.
So I turned on my upnp, - I got the green check and its happy days.

Only thing was that the port value kept changing.
Is it normal?

Do I need the remote access turned on or should I leave it off? Or just leave it and configure on its own? I don’t think I will use Plex outside my network.

Again I’m new at this…
Some advise appreciated

Thanks

Yes, this is quite normal.
When Plex server is starting up, it negotiates with your router a semi-random port number to use.
Upon next restart, this port number can be different.

If you aren’t using the remote access anyway, this doesn’t matter.
You might as well disable Remote Access altogether.

First of all - thank you for the swift reply
I figured that as well - to leave the remote access just as is.
But for now I will just leave it the remote access enabled.

Thanks!
I have so much to learn about this thing.
Good day!
