I have awoken to a few texts from family members that they can’t access Plex. I then went to settings and for some reason my server won’t allow remote access. It has been working for years, then all of a sudden, it’s not. I have UPnP and all the other things enabled/ The port is forwarded correctly. But it’s just not working.
Has anybody else had any issues this morning or does anybody know how I could possibly resolve this?
Ok. I have now disabled upnp and the Port is definitely open. But still no allowing remote access. This is very strange as it has been working for years with the same settings. Other applications are still accessible through my IP. I have been on this all day trying various things and restarting the server and router, but no joy.
Very similar scenario. Remote access has been working for me for a few years. Sometimes I would have to toggle enable/disable for it to work, but now I toggle enable/disable and that dreaded red x appears.
To top it off I’m absolutely terrible at configuring network/ports/ip’s.
I also have that same situation. Just spent the last 2 hours troubleshooting, but nothing. The remote access will go green for about a half second then immediately go to red again. Can’t access remotely either. I have made no changes prior to this happening. I update server to the latest version. I did have an internet outage for about 12 hours. When it came back everything worked except for Plex. HELP…
SOLVED!!! For some reason my firewall had started to block Plex Media Server. Please check yours. I didn’t look at that straightaway because it was added as an exception ages ago and was working until I updated. A lot of searching and not being able to use externally, for this simple solution!
Nope. my firewall was completely disabled. I finally just got a new modem/router from CenturyLink and now remote access works perfectly. I didnt have to touch anything. Clearly I had malfunctioning hardware. Thanks everyone for your helpful attempts.
