Show is shown as Unavailable

I have a show on my server that after the latest update one season of a show are now unavailable.

I can play the season on my server both local and via the web interface.

Can any body tell me what is going on?

The season availability is usually an aggregate of the availability of all episodes. If one or more episodes are missing / no longer visible to Plex, the season will show as unavailable.

You should be able to list your library by episodes and filter it for „trashed“ (=unavailable) items. This should help finding which specific files might currently not be visible to Plex.

All episodes are available for that season.

As in: you applied the filter and none of the episodes are match the criteria?

You can also edit the season and check the Info tab if any of the items associated with it are listed as missing.

none are missing, I just have that trash symbol on the season but everything works

Does it persist if you re-scan the library files?

Have you tried emptying the trash for the library in question?

Sometimes it happens that there are duplicate files for a particular episode (it happens in my DVR library if a higher resolution item is recorded and I delete the lower resolution one). Since the lower resolution file is no longer available, it will show as unavailable (since one of the two files is, indeed, unavailable). Emptying the trash clears this situation.

The “Trash” filter doesn’t generally catch this situation as the episode itself is actually available; it’s just one of the versions which isn’t.
