I’ve been using the new Collection Feature and I absolutely love it.
I’ve noticed however that, if multiple collections are assigned to e.g. a Movie, only one collection is listed/expanded when viewing that movie in the Plex Client.
What I was expecting to see is that for each of the collections assigned a list of assigned Movies/TV Shows/… would appear.
True, this list can potentially grow if lots of collections are assigned, but then if you all those collections are relevant, then that is what one wants from a navigational experiences point of view.
Is this something that is planned, a bug, or an oversight ?
I believe this is to emphasize if the same collection shows up in multiple libraries (which will result in another section for that scope). I use this e.g. for “Marvel One Shots” in my short films movie library and “MCU” movies in my main movie library.
I first thought Plex remembers from which collection you accessed that movie… but apparently it just picks 1 of the collections and goes with that one.
To give an example :
Assume the movie X-Men 2 sits in the “X-men” collection (which it gets through the agent), but additionally was manually added in the “Marvel” collection.
What I would expect to see when opening the X-Men movie is to see a listing of the movies (or other types) of the “X-Men” collection, followed by a listing of movies (or other types) in the “Marvel” collection.
And so on.
I was about to make another topic but it looks like my issue is related or the same…
tv show is in 3 collections. When viewing that tv show you see 2 of those collections instead of seeing the 3rd you see “More from studio” instead of the 3rd collection. When the 3 collections are more relevant/useful than the studio one. Some way to allow more collections to be shown or prioritize custom collections over the build in ones would be nice.
TV Show is in “4K HDR” TV Collection, There is also a “4K HDR” Movie Collection. Then also a Movie that the TV Show is based on so both those are in a collection. When viewing the TV show you would not know about this movie instead you see more from X studio which isn’t as important.
