I got this information from another thread with my question about this problem and a possible fix the devs might be working on.

Recording not finishing, no resulting file

No - the information is in the database I have referred this to the server team requesting that any watched times prior to the time of end of recording should be ignored when actioning the Watched Deletion Policy
